First Lafarge cement plant in Syria

Lafarge Cement Syria is currently building a cement factory at 160 km northeast of Aleppo, where the strictest European environmental standards will be applied.

The plant, which has an annual production capacity of approximately 3 million tonnes of cement, (representing over one third of local needs), should be partly operational in early 2010 and complete by mid-2010.

Lafarge Group Health and Safety policy

Complying with Lafarge Group Health and Safety policy, Lafarge Cement Syria had contributed in Health & Safety month with several activities, the 1st activity is dedicated to “Fire Hazards” and the 2nd activity is dedicated to “First Aid”, and the Health and Safety month was ended with a safety day celebration at Jalabiyeh plant with the participation of all LCS staff.
